My name is Dana and I teach math and yearbook at a local high school and have been a beautician for over seventeen years. I was born in Oklahoma and have lived in several states throughout my life. I have had dogs in my life since I was one. Most of them have been mutts of various types but have had a blue heeler, cocker spaniel, wolf hybrid, four chows, and now rat terriers. My husband and I have been married for twelve years and have two children. My husband is an electrician/general contractor working in government buildings. He recently purchased a vinyl graphics cutter and has begun to sell and apply graphics locally. He also has his CDL and can drive most heavy equipment and semis. We live in his hometown. We purchased the house above over eight years ago. His paternal grandparents purchased this house many years ago and his aunt lived in it until we bought it from her. It is a small house and since our family has grown we are planning on building a house on the back part of our fifteen acres. This house has almost an acre that is fenced and that is where the dogs live. We have several dog houses on the front porch and the dogs sleep on the back deck during the summer. I do not believe in penning a dog up all the time, especially when I have so much room to play, but I do use kennels to put the boys in time out when they are misbehaving or to put all the dogs up when company is over and playing outside. Our children are ages 11 and 5. Our son is in the sixth grade and our daughter is in kindergarten. Both of my children share my love of animals and it is a good thing our house is small or we would have a zoo. We have four fish tanks full of various fish and two leopard geckos. If they could convince their dad we would have cats, ferrets, gerbils and rabbits too. There is not a lot to do in this sleepy little town and having pets is a safe way to pass the time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the breeders from where my dogs have come from - if it was not for you all this would not be possible. I would like to extend a special thanks to Pat K. and Karrie S. They have both tolerated my e-mails, instant messages, and long phone calls with grace. They are both very special people to me and they will never know how much I truly appreciate them being at the other end of this computer. I would also like to thank all of the other breeders I call friends and the special people that have purchased pups from me. Nothing can break this rattie family we have built. Thank you for teaching me how to be a good breeder. |
